The drôme provençale
It is in Montélimar that suddenly everything changes, you are in Drôme Provençale: the sky is uncovered, the facades are covered with ochre, the accent is sunny... The most southern territory of the Rhône-Alpes region, Drôme Provençale has a Mediterranean climate. Whatever the season, the weather is mild and the light remarkable. It has inspired many painters.
Throughout the year, the golden stones of the picturesque villages welcome with enthusiasm and hospitality those who go to meet them, while lovers of grandiose landscapes and outdoor activities enjoy hiking, horseback riding, cycling, mountain biking, paragliding, climbing, or swimming. From the Rhone Valley to the Baronnies Provençales, the Drôme Provençale is full of architectural and cultural treasures. Its perched villages and authentic historical centers such as Grignan and its famous castle, Nyons and its Provencal market or Dieulefit and its pottery know-how are only a few of the essential stops.
