THE SURROUNDINGS
20 minutes by car from the castle, stroll through the typically Provencal streets of the village of Uzès, around the fountain of its Place aux Herbes, in its colorful Wednesday and Saturday market and under its medieval Duchy.
A few kilometers away, there are many possibilities for unusual escapades: swimming in the waterfalls of La Roque-sur-Cèze, discovering the perched villages of Lussan and Aiguèze or visiting the Haribo Candy Museum for young and old gourmets.
A little further on, head for Nîmes for its arena, Roman remains and its Halles, Avignon for its immense Palais des Papes and Arles for its arena and iconic Rencontres de la photographie. For a nature getaway, the idyllic and wild landscapes of the Camargue are a must.
